Turmeric at Rosalie Bay Resort, Dominica

Weekly tips to bring island-inspired wellness into your everyday life from the wellness and spa team at Rosalie Bay Resort, Dominica. Post written by Spa and Wellness Coordinator Laura Lund.

Turmeric is best known for its use as a main ingredient in curry. In India and Asia, it is also used for its many medicinal properties. The spice is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, providing a long list of health benefits.

Turmeric:

  • protects cells,
  • supports immune and liver function,
  • protects blood vessels,
  • cleanses the blood,
  • improves heart health and memory,
  • decreases LDL (bad) cholesterol while increasing HDL (good) cholesterol,
  • and protects against cancer (especially colon and prostate).

Give turmeric a taste while on vacation at Rosalie Bay. Try the turmeric tea at our Zamaan Restaurant or make it at home with this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Turmeric root
  • Lime
  • Honey
