Much to our excitement, Travel and Landscape Photographer Randy Kerr was recently named on the “short list” in the 2013 World Responsible Tourism Awards for his photos of a rare daytime nesting of a leatherback sea turtle at Rosalie Bay this past spring. Randy is one of 10 finalists in the Best Photography for Responsible Tourism category.
The Awards promote responsible tourism by highlighting organizations, destinations and individuals who work to showcase just that. As part of World Photographic, Randy Kerr certainly fits the qualifications working with global charitable organizations such as our own Nature Enhancement Team and dedicating his practice to evolving high quality photography skills while “exposing meaningful topics and the environmental necessity of green living.”
Nominees and their work were thoroughly reviewed by a panel of 12 expert judges who took seven hours to choose this year’s honoree. The nominees are invited to the World Travel Market in London on November 6, 2013, where the winners will be announced as part of World Responsible Tourism Day.
We wish Randy the very best of luck!
