The results are in for the Condé Nast Traveler 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards, and we are honored to share that Rosalie Bay has once again been named among the “50 Best Resorts in the Caribbean.”
In addition to celebrating our second appearance on the prestigious list, our eco-boutique resort is also the only resort on Dominica to receive recognition.

In describing Rosalie Bay, the editors at Condé Nast Traveler magazine say, “Built as a labor of love, this 28-room eco-enterprise is a master microcosm of Dominica: 22 acres of verdant grounds (frangipani, ginger lily, heliconia, and hibiscus) and a hotel blessedly free of pretension.”
Our nature resort’s environmental efforts and commitment to local residents also caught their attention, with the magazine adding, “Controlling its environmental footprint, the resort uses wind turbine, solar panels, on-site water filtration, and Adirondack chairs made from recycled plastic. From March through October, guests can help monitor turtles nesting on the beach. As impressive as the resort’s green sensibilities is its faith in the locals: Many of the cheery staffers hail from the village of Grand Fond, including a mason who, after construction was complete, trained to be the barman at the Caribbean-inflected Zamaan restaurant.”

Resort owner Beverly was humbled to receive the good news saying, “It is truly an honor to be included with such an esteemed group of properties from around the world and to represent the Nature Island. This award recognizes the hard work and dedication of our staff who strive to deliver genuine hospitality to our guests. We remain grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support from our guests and the island community.”
In the 27th annual Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, more than 76,600 readers voted for 7,721 properties around the world. Resorts are rated based upon several categories: rooms, service, food, location, design and activities.
