November Turtle Hatchings

It has been an exciting couple of days on our beach. Yesterday 80 baby green sea turtles emerged from their nest and we watched them make their first trip to the sea.

With a small helping hand, the action continued into today as 5 more green sea turtle hatchlings from that same nest emerged before our eyes. Luckily, we were able to watch nature unfold and capture it on camera.

Our team was thrilled to witness the event.

Watch both of these videos to see the hatchlings emerge from the nest and scurry off to the Atlantic Ocean.

Even though sea turtle season is officially March to October, it is not uncommon to have hatchlings emerge in November. In fact, there are still two more green turtle nests on our black sand beach so stay tuned for updates!
