U.S. Ambassador Presents Rosalie Bay with Corporate Excellence Award

Rosalie Bay recently welcomed a special guest to our nature-resort. The U.S. Ambassador to Dominica Larry L. Palmer made the trip to Rosalie Bay to present in-person the U.S. Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence, which had been awarded to us in 2012. Our eco-resort received the award “in recognition of corporate citizenship, innovation, and contribution to the overall growth and development of the local economy in Dominica.”

The award recognizes American companies that are global leaders in advancing corporate social responsibility. Unfortunately, Minnesota native and resort owner Beverly was off island  during his visit (read her thoughts on the award here). Accepting the award on behalf of Rosalie Bay is Beverly’s partner and Dominica native Patris Oscar. It was truly an honor to host the Ambassador and receive such esteemed recognition.

As the Ambassador said during his visit, “It has taken me that long to get here, but it will not take me that long to get back.” Play the video below to hear Ambassador Larry L. Palmer’s thoughts on the sustainability efforts here at our eco-resort.
