Colorful Creatures at Rosalie Bay

Caterpillar at Rosalie Bay on Dominica

Scientifically known as the Pseudosphinx tetrio, this caterpillar won’t stay in its brightly colored form forever. They will eventually turn into a dark brown moth and take flight.

Right now, these creatures can be seen on the grounds here at Rosalie Bay in their caterpillar form, warding off predators with their vibrant greenish-yellow stripes and orange heads. With so much greenery flourishing on Dominica during the summer season, it is the perfect time of year to catch a glimpse of these creatures diligently munching on leaves.

If you aren’t with us to see one for yourself, we took this video to share with you.
