With eight active volcanoes, an abundance of wildlife, more than 1,200 plant species and 365 rivers, our island is a nature-lover’s paradise. Here at our sanctuary amid the wilds of the Nature Island, there are many Dominica activities to choose from. We’re excited to introduce five new guided hikes and tours, all departing from the grounds of our wellness resort.
Garden Walk
Stroll the grounds of our nature resort as you make your way to our on-site organic garden, which supplies fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables to Zamaan Restaurant. Learn about local vegetation, flowers, plants and animals while enjoying the spectacular scenery and pristine waters of the Rosalie River.
Turtle Beach Walk
The black sand beach of Rosalie Bay is the natural nesting ground for endangered sea turtles including Green, Hawksbill and Leatherback. During this walk, you’ll enjoy Turtle Beach’s beautiful scenery and volcanic rocks.
Petite Soufreire Walk
Petite Soufriere is one of the most isolated villages in Dominica. View the remains of the old sugar mill and banana plantation of Rosalie Estate before passing the local’s favorite swimming hole and heading into the small fishing village.
Community Nature Trail Walk
Just past the turtle hatchery, the trail parallels one of Dominica’s 365 rivers and is a botanical haven of just some of the 1,200 indigenous local fruits and flowers.
Morne Fragate Nature Trail Walk
Meander through the nearby village of Frayal set along steep cliffs of farmland.
On any of these nature walks, prepare to be mesmerized by unsurpassed natural beauty. Contact us for more information or to reserve your spot.
