Earth Day Tree Planting Project

This year for Earth Day, Rosalie Bay Resort participated in the Million Hour Tree Planting Project, which aims to reduce deforestation and the loss of exposed top soil, and aid in the beautification of Dominica.

Our project was delayed a week thanks to a rainy Earth Day, but we were able to complete it recently. On Saturday, May 25, approximately 50 volunteers including Rosalie Bay Resort staff, their family members and local volunteers assisted with the tree planting.

A total of 50 native trees and shrubs were planted along the Community Center at Riviere Cyrique, which is approximately 50 minutes away from the capital of Roseau and five minutes from Rosalie Bay Resort. The trees and shrubs were part of the 3,000 plants donated from our resort nursery and landscaper to the island-wide project.

It was a fun, rewarding day for a great cause. Thank you to everyone who came out to assist in the tree planting! Enjoy photos from the day’s activities below.
