Wellness Wednesday: Goddess yoga pose

Goddess Pose, Secret Beach, Rosalie Bay Resort, DominicaStrike a pose, specifically the Goddess yoga pose (demonstrated here by a recent guest at Secret Beach).

The Goddess pose strengthens and tones the legs, hips, feet and ankles. At the same time, it stretches the hips, chest and groins. This pose also brings energy to the solar plexus and tones the pelvic region, making it a great pose for both men and women.

To practice the Goddess pose:

  • Step your feet 4 to 5 feet apart with the toes pointing out,
  • Take a deep squat, trying to get your thighs parallel to the earth, and
  • Keep the knees over the ankles and the chest lifting as you breath into the goddess energy.
