Wellness Wednesday: Yoga Benefits and Special Event

Weekly tips to bring island-inspired wellness into your everyday life from the wellness and spa team at Rosalie Bay Resort, Dominica. Post written by Spa and Wellness Coordinator Laura Lund.

Yoga. We blog about it often, sharing various yoga poses and health benefits the practice has to offer. If you are unfamiliar with the benefits, yoga has been scientifically proven to decrease hypertension and its precursors, all of which are linked to heart disease and stroke.

In addition, yoga equals or surpasses exercise in decreasing stress, improving balance, decreasing fatigue, improving sleep, and increasing sex drive and satisfaction. The practice also lessens spinal deterioration and increases cellular longevity (perhaps one reason yogis look so young).

If you haven’t tried it yet, we invite you to try it while on vacation at Rosalie Bay. Join us for our complimentary classes in our gazebo overlooking where the Rosalie River runs into the Atlantic Ocean or improve your yoga practice with private instruction.
